The Final Countdown

As we enter the final term of the most bizarre year, I thought I would give you some information about what is in store for Kingfisher class over the next 7 weeks.

Mr Purnell is with us for just under two more weeks and then he will have completed his placement with us, we will be sad to see him go.

English – This term we will be using the texts Iron Man by Ted Hughes and The Secret of the Black Rock by Joe Todd-Stanton for our reading and to inspire some wonderful writing.

Maths – We will be learning more about time and shape this term whilst revisiting the four operations.

Science – Our science topic this term is Light and Shadow (so hopefully the sun keeps shining).

Geography – We will be revisiting our rivers topic from January, all together, in school.

And much much more!

To help us ensure any gaps from the last year are quickly closed, please read with your child every night and do doodle maths every day.

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a wonderful new school year. I am mega excited to meet everyone on Monday. Such a shame I can’t be in before then, but good things come to those who wait (so I have heard), and boy have you had a long wait. We will be spending a lot of time getting to know each other, getting to know how some of the new routines work and remembering what it is like to be in school.

I will try to write on here as much as I can and will keep adding pictures to show you what we have been up to.

Mrs Blackmore
